Radius
to deliver Microsoft® Content Management
Server in major new partnership
16 January 2002, Feltham: Following
on from the launch, early in 2001,
of its eLGPortal secure transactional
portal for local authorities, Radius
today announces its partnership with
cScape Strategic Internet Services
for the delivery of Internet solutions
based on Microsoft®'s Content Management
Server.
Phil Benton, Radius Computer
Services' Managing Director, commented:
"The future of content management in e-Government environments is about the synergy
of processes and technologies - the relationship between people, the data they
generate, manage and deploy, and the devices they use to carry this out. Yesterday's
boundaries between document management, intranet content management, website
content management, knowledge management and customer relationship management
are fundamentally breaking down.
At Radius
our work with Local Authorities,
on delivering secure transactional
services on websites, has lead
us to search for the best solution
for managing the content of both
external websites and intranets.
After a lengthy evaluation, Radius
decided to focus on Microsoft's
Content Management Server product,
and in particular on cScape's excellent
track record in delivering full
Internet websites for local authorities
quickly and effectively.
The partnership,
announced today, brings together
cScape's unrivalled experience,
innovation and design skills in
implementing Content Management
Server, with Radius' overall technical
and management skills in deliveringcomplete
websites, both informational and
transactional, to local authorities."
Rob Killick,
cScape's CEO, commented:
"Most organisations
understand the importance of choosing
the right content management solution
but are faced with a bewildering
range of options, rapid technological
development and shifting expectations
from all corners.
The rapid
growth of content maintained on
websites, extranets and intranets
shows no sign of slowing. Add to
the picture related developments,
such as the gradual emergence of
the mobile Internet and web services
- which will offer more opportunities,
but also more challenges. In fact,
the technological innovations and
expectations of citizens, employees
and other interest groups appear
to combine to set ever-increasing
standards for content availability,
ease of access and ease of management.
cScape and
Radius solutions rest upon not
only what combination of products
or applications are best, but how
these combinations measure up for
the longer-term environment."
Radius and
cScape, working with Microsoft
will be presenting and demonstrating
content management solutions for
local authorities, based on Microsoft® Content
Management Server and Microsoft® SharePoint
Portal, at the e-Government roadshow
to be held at 7 venues in March
2002. click
