Radius launches its new Financial Management Information System

1 July, 2002 - Feltham.

This is a major new product built to meet the evolving financial management needs of local authorities in an interoperable, e-Government environment.

Over the years, Radius has focussed on providing Local Authority finance departments with best in class software applications, initially on ICL VME systems (PALS, PASS and SPS products) and subsequently was one of the first suppliers to offer its FMIS as an open Unix system running across multiple hardware platforms (Powersolve). Radius Financials is the latest in this line of applications, developed through our innovative, major initiative using Microsoft technology and drawing on our experience of local authorities' evolving requirements, this brand new product has been developed from the ground up to provide the ultimate in functionality and ease-of-use on a truly interoperable platform.

North Kesteven District Council who has been a user of Radius' SPS software since 1986 is the first council to upgrade to Radius Financials.

When it became time to examine the advantages offered by a modern Windows-based financial management system, it was a natural progression for finance chief Rob Hipworth to look to Radius.

Radius Financials provides a financial management system using the latest Microsoft technology that will not only help North Kesteven gain some quick wins against their IEG plans but also provide a fully interoperable solution that meets the long term targets of the Authority.

Whilst they are a forward thinking authority, North Kesteven are planning for evolution not revolution and are therefore taking a phased approach to the implementation of the new software. The initial phase will concentrate on procurement, e-Payments and the creditors ledger. The general ledger and debtors modules will then follow.
